Why does my camera not work?

For Android users

Symptoms:

  1. Clicking on the "Sell" button shows a black screen 
  2. Photos uploaded are not in the correct orientation (e.g. photo ends up sideways instead of straight)

What you can do:

  1. Go to Me  
  2. Click on Settings 
  3. Ensure that the option for "use built-in camera" has been unchecked 
  4. Try to list another item!

For Apple users

Symptoms:

  1. Clicking on the "Sell" button shows a black screen

What you can do:

  1. Go to your device's settings (not in Carousell app) 
  2. Click on Carousell 
  3. Ensure that the option for "Camera" is enabled 
  4. Try to list another item!

If the above steps still do not work for you, email us at support@carousell.com. In your email, do include screenshots of the error message as well as your device model.

In the meanwhile, do try out our web platform at  https://www.carousell.com/. You would be able to list your items on sale while we work to get this up and running again for you.
